Intermark Mall Turns Small Acts into Shared Impact with Kindness Month

KUALA LUMPUR, 11 May 2026 – As part of Pavilion REIT’s broader sustainability initiative, Intermark Mall advocated practicing kindness with a campaign entitled Kindness Month, an ESG-led initiative running from 20 April to 10 May 2026. Rooted in three simple yet powerful pillars — Kind to Others, Kind to Self, and Kind to Mother Nature — the programme invited the community to rediscover how small, intentional acts can create meaningful social and environmental impact.

At the heart of the campaign lay a pay-it-forward movement that transforms everyday generosity into a shared community experience. Under the Kind to Others pillar, Intermark Mall spotlighted gig economy riders and frontliners, individuals who keep the city moving, often quietly and without recognition.

In a thoughtful chain of giving, students from tenant, Primrose Hill International School took the lead with a charity booth offering homemade baked treats. What makes this initiative especially meaningful is its ripple effect: proceeds from the student-led sales are used to purchase light bites from Intermark Mall tenants, which are then distributed to riders and frontliners around the area.

Complementing this effort, Hanare Japanese Restaurant contributed freshly prepared maki (rice rolls), adding a heartfelt touch to each care pack.

More than a one-off gesture, the initiative reflects a collective act of kindness involving the mall’s ecosystem leveraging on the symbiotic relationship for all stakeholders: shoppers, students, tenants and the wider community each play a role in uplifting others. The fund- raising booth happened on Friday, 24 April; Thursday, 30 April; and Friday, 8 May, turning ordinary mall visits into opportunities to give back.

Beyond community outreach, Kindness Month extended its impact through thoughtfully curated experiences that encouraged care for both self and the environment. Under the Kind to Self pillar, shoppers explored a kindness marketplace, participated in fitness and wellness activities, and enjoyed simple moments of self-care through curated pampering experiences.

Meanwhile, the Kind to Mother Nature pillar introduced accessible sustainability touchpoints, from pre-loved clothing collections in collaboration with SIB, to e- waste recycling with ERTH and used cooking oil collection with FatHopes, alongside showcases of Intermark Mall’s ongoing ESG initiatives.

The programme was further enriched with community-centric activations, including an Earth Day-inspired “Power Kindness: Pedal for Energy” initiative with WWF Malaysia, an inclusive bazaar featuring artwork by autistic youth by The Spectrum by E.S.A, and meaningful conversations around neurodiversity and workplace inclusion.

Through Kindness Month, Intermark Mall reimagined sustainability as something deeply human. Not just a concept, but a series of small, shared actions. In doing so, it reinforced Pavilion REIT’s commitment to shaping retail spaces that go beyond commerce, becoming platforms for empathy, connection, and everyday responsibility.
