Pavilion Kuala Lumpur: Tokyo Street Embarks on “Journey to Tokyo” to Celebrate 15 Years with Astro Boy and Immersive Japanese Cultural Experiences
Pavilion Kuala Lumpur marks a milestone this year as Tokyo Street celebrates its 15th anniversary through “Journey to Tokyo”, presented together with Animangaki, the vibrant community that brings together fans of anime, comics and gaming. Having collaborated with many of Japan’s most renowned IPs over the years, Tokyo Street continues its mission to deliver authentic experiences that bring Malaysia and Japan closer, marking the occasion by welcoming one of Japanese pop culture’s most enduring icons: Astro Boy.
Running from 10th July to 2nd August 2026, the celebration unfolds through a month-long line-up of immersive experiences, exclusive rewards and cultural activities with new highlights unveiled throughout the campaign to keep visitors coming back for more.
Kicking off the celebration, shoppers can participate in the Astro Boy Stamp Rally by collecting stamps at designated stations from 10th July onwards. Visitors can also look forward to Astro Boy Meet & Greet sessions at Tokyo Street and Connection, with schedules to be announced via Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s official social media channels.
Adding Every weekend from 11th July, the Malaysia Origami Academy will conduct hands-on origami workshops led by a certified instructor, with each session exploring a different aspect of the traditional Japanese paper-folding art:

On every Saturday and Sunday from 18th July to 2nd August, as well as on 29th July, visitors can immerse themselves in Japanese traditions through complimentary Yukata dress-up sessions at Tokyo Street, offering the perfect opportunity to capture memorable moments in traditional Japanese attire.
The festivities culminate on 29th July with the highly anticipated Tokyo Street 15th Anniversary celebration. To mark the milestone, the first 150 shoppers at Tokyo Street will receive complimentary warabimochi, while the first 50 shoppers who make any purchase at Tokyo Street will also take home an exclusive Japanese Mystery Bag, making it the campaign’s biggest celebration.

Pavilion Bukit Jalil: Japanese Culture, Craft and Celebration Take Centre Stage with ‘Konnichiwa Japan – Together, Here’ 2026.
At Pavilion Bukit Jalil, the gateway into Japan takes the form of “Konnichiwa Japan – Together, Here” 2026, a month-long journey into the sights, tastes and shared spirit of Japanese culture, inspired by the vibrant traditions of matsuri and the joy of celebrating together. Running from 1st July to 2nd August 2026, the campaign unfolds through curated shopper rewards and immersive experiences, showcasing Japanese cuisine, craftsmanship, entertainment and community spirit throughout the mall.
From 1st to 20th July 2026, shoppers are invited to enter the Konnichiwa Japan, Together, Here. Spend & Win Contest, in partnership with Joy Paradise, with three lucky winners each standing to win a 7-day, 6-night holiday package to Japan for two, complete with return flights, transportation and hotel stay, worth a total of RM80,000. This leads into the highlight of the festival, Pavilion Matsuri 2026 at Centre Court (Level 2), held from 31st July to 2nd August in collaboration with the Japan Graduates’ Association of Malaysia (JAGAM) and supported by the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia, where Centre Court is transformed into a vibrant Japanese festival experience like no other.

Pavilion Damansara Heights: Neko Neko Matsuri Welcomes Sakura Season and the Lucky Neko Guardians
At Pavilion Damansara Heights, Japan Festival 2026 takes shape as Neko Neko Matsuri, a month-long celebration inspired by the fleeting beauty of Japan’s sakura season and the folklore of the beloved Maneki Neko. Running from 1st July to 2nd August 2026, the festival transforms Concourse, Level 2 into a Japanese-inspired Zen Garden, where sakura-inspired décor and a whimsical landscape of lucky cat guardians invite visitors to wander through a picturesque setting steeped in fortune, happiness and discovery.
Visitors are welcomed at the entrance of Pavilion Damansara Heights by the Lucky Neko Guardians, each representing a unique blessing inspired by the beloved Japanese Maneki Neko.
The experience begins at the Main Entrance, where Kin no Tama, the Golden Fortune Cat, and Shiro Emi, the Happiness Cat, greet visitors before guiding them through the Entrance Lobby, passing the enchanting Wishing Sakura Tree where wishes and hopes bloom beneath the cherry blossoms, along with meeting Momoiro Ai, the Love Cat, Aka Mamori, the Protector Cat, and Midori Sensei, the Wisdom Cat.
As they walk towards the Japanese-inspired Zen Garden at Concourse, visitors will encounter the festival’s grand centrepiece — Kuri Fuku, the towering Prosperity Cat, who stands as a symbol of luck, wealth and prosperity at the heart of the celebration. Together, the guardians invite visitors on a meaningful journey of love, protection, wisdom, prosperity, fortune and happiness, each unveiling its own story and blessing.
The celebration’s centrepiece is the Hanafubuki Sakura Experience, where a mesmerising shower of cherry blossom petals cascades through Concourse every Saturday and Sunday from 11th July to 2nd August 2026, at 12pm and 5pm. Inspired by Japan’s sakura season, the moment transforms the space into a dreamy sakura wonderland and offers visitors a magical, highly shareable photo opportunity. To complete the experience, visitors can also rent a traditional Yukata (available at a fee) and immerse themselves in the beauty of Japanese culture as they stroll through the enchanting Zen Garden beneath the cherry blossoms.
Visitors can also immerse themselves in a series of hands-on Japanese cultural experiences. A Tokonoma-inspired Ikebana showcase by Ikenobo Malaysia, refreshed weekly throughout the campaign, and a specially curated Japanese Kaiseki Table Setting showcasing the artistry and precision of traditional Japanese craft and dining.
Throughout the campaign, Pavilion Damansara Heights will host a series of immersive Japanese cultural showcases, workshops and themed activities throughout the festival period at Concourse, Level 2.

Complementing the celebration, the Honda Roadshow will also take place from 2nd July to 2nd August 2026 at Level 2 (in front of TOMEI), showcasing one of Japan’s most iconic automotive brands.
For a more playful encounter, Fun Car Street brings the excitement of Japan’s entertainment culture to Pavilion Damansara Heights with a large collection of claw machines and gachapon machines.
