SEVENFRIDAY’s New ‘Bubble Gum’ Watch Looks Like It Came Straight Out of the ’80s in the Best Way

If your watch collection could use a little more colour, SEVENFRIDAY might have just the thing.

The Swiss watchmaker has unveiled the P1C/06 “Bubble Gum”, the latest addition to its signature P-Series lineup, and it’s anything but subtle.

Taking inspiration from bubble gum and the bold aesthetics of the 1980s, the watch embraces pastel colours, playful details and retro charm while keeping the industrial design language SEVENFRIDAY is known for.

The star of the show is its eye-catching four-layer dial. Think glossy mauve, papaya orange, pastel green and pops of pink, all layered together to create a colourful look that stands out without feeling over the top. The applied indexes are coated with Swiss Super-LumiNova, so they’ll continue glowing when the lights go down.

The watch also retains SEVENFRIDAY’s signature squircle-shaped case, measuring 47.6mm by 47mm, paired with a white ceramic bezel and crown that complement the candy-inspired colour palette.

Under the hood, it’s powered by an automatic Miyota movement with around 40 hours of power reserve, while a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating helps keep the dial protected. With 10 ATM water resistance, it’s built for everyday wear too.

Completing the look is a padded white calfskin leather strap that keeps the focus firmly on the vibrant dial.

Like the brand’s other modern timepieces, the P1C/06 also features an embedded NFC chip, allowing owners to authenticate and register their watch through the SEVENFRIDAY mobile app.

According to Soemantri Kusumadi, the watch is designed to remind collectors that watches don’t always have to take themselves too seriously.

“It’s playful, expressive and unexpected yet underneath the colours is the same attention to design, detail and mechanical character that defines SEVENFRIDAY.”

The SEVENFRIDAY P1C/06 “Bubble Gum” is now available at Red Army Watches Malaysia outlets in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and 1 Utama, as well as online, priced at RM7,780.
