Asia’s Top Fitness Athletes Face Off In New High-Intensity Web Series

What happens when some of Asia’s fittest athletes are brought together for five days of brutal workouts, competition and recovery?

That’s the premise behind Crucible Camp by Optimum Nutrition, a new seven-episode web series featuring 12 elite athletes from across Asia, including Physical: 100 Season 2 runner-up Hong Beom-seok.

Filmed at Hooton Retreat in Negeri Sembilan from 1 to 5 July, the five-day camp brought together athletes from Malaysia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, the Philippines, China and Thailand.

The lineup includes athletes from HYROX, CrossFit, Spartan Race, Crucible Fitness Games and other functional fitness disciplines, putting some of the region’s top competitors through a series of physical and mental challenges.

Among them is Hong Beom-seok, who rose to international attention after finishing as runner-up on Netflix’s Physical: 100 Season 2.

Across the camp, the 12 athletes competed in challenges built around Crucible’s four workout zones, FIRE, FORCE, FLOW and FORGE, testing everything from cardiovascular endurance and strength to speed, agility and metabolic conditioning.

One of the toughest challenges involved a 90-minute workout loop featuring weighted burden runs and 40kg farmer’s carries, while the Crucible Combine tested the athletes with tug-of-war, upper-body strength challenges and hill sprints.

But it wasn’t all about pushing limits. Recovery sessions were also built into the camp, giving the athletes time to reset, recover and connect with one another.

Founded by Callum Meehan, the creator of Crucible Fitness Games, the camp aims to showcase the growing fitness community across Asia while bringing athletes from different disciplines together.

“Crucible Camp was created to bring together some of the best fitness athletes in Asia and give them a platform to train, compete and grow alongside one another,” said Meehan.

The seven-episode Crucible Camp by Optimum Nutrition web series began releasing on 31 August 2026, giving viewers an inside look at the competition, training and camaraderie behind the camp.

The series is available through Crucible Fitness Games’ official social channels.
