A decade of celebrations, getaways, good food and memorable moments came together as Le Méridien Putrajaya marked its 10th anniversary with a special 10 Years of Excellence Anniversary Soirée.
The celebration brought together guests, partners and industry figures, including Yang Berusaha Encik Chua Choon Hwa, Deputy Secretary-General (Tourism), Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC); Dato’ Lee Yeow Seng, Group Chief Executive Officer of IOI Properties Group; and Yang Berhormat Datin Yeo Bee Yin.
Since opening its doors 10 years ago, Le Méridien Putrajaya has grown beyond being a place to check in and stay, becoming part of the wider Putrajaya lifestyle scene with its dining, weddings, business events and leisure experiences.
Its direct connection to IOI City Mall has also made it a convenient base for visitors looking to explore Putrajaya while having one of Malaysia’s largest shopping and lifestyle destinations right next door.
Ten years, two major wins
The anniversary came at a pretty good time for the hotel, following two recent industry recognitions.
Le Méridien Putrajaya was named Best Lifestyle Hotel Experience at the Tourism Industry Awards 2026, while its signature Chinese restaurant, Le Mei, was recognised under the Best Specialty Cuisine Restaurants category at the HAPA® Awards 2026 Series 2.
For General Manager Sonal Malik, the milestone was as much about the people and memories created over the years as it was about the hotel itself.
“Over the past ten years, we have had the privilege of welcoming guests for many different moments, from stays and dining to meaningful connections and life’s most cherished occasions,” she said.
Celebrating the people behind the journey
One of the evening’s most meaningful moments was the recognition of 14 long-serving associates who had been with Le Méridien Putrajaya since the hotel first opened.
The team members were celebrated for being part of the hotel’s journey from day one before joining guests for the ceremonial cutting of a 10-tier anniversary cake.
The celebration also leaned into Le Méridien’s longstanding connection with art and culture.
Ahead of Malaysia’s 69th Independence Day, the soirée showcased an artwork of the hotel by local artist Nor Asyikin Abdullah, Lakar by Mekar, alongside a live painting performance by Syamsul Addenno from OnWall Enterprise.
The live artwork brought Le Méridien Putrajaya and the city itself together on canvas, capturing the relationship between the hotel and the destination it has called home for the past decade.
The celebration continues
With its first decade now behind it, Le Méridien Putrajaya is looking towards its next chapter with a continued focus on travel, food, art and discovery.
The hotel also extended its 10th anniversary celebrations beyond the soirée with a limited-time collection of stay and dining experiences.
The Decade of Moments Stay included accommodation, breakfast for two, anniversary afternoon tea and commemorative touches, while The Art of 10 brought together anniversary dining experiences across Le Mei, Latest Recipe and Latitude 02.
From a 10-course degustation and signature dim sum to grand buffets, cocktails, éclairs and afternoon tea, the anniversary collection offered plenty of ways for guests to celebrate the milestone.
After 10 years, Le Méridien Putrajaya’s story is still very much about the Art of Travel, Joy of Living and Savouring the Good Life with hopefully plenty more stories to come.
