PROTON today announced an expanded S70 model range, making Malaysia’s class-leading sedan more accessible than ever with the addition of two new variants powered by its i-GT 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine. Mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), the new powertrain option enables the company’s award-winning C-segment sedan to occupy a price position estimated to be below RM60,000, thereby expanding its appeal to more potential buyers. Bookings can be made starting from today, 7 September at all authorised Proton dealers nationwide.
Designed for customers who value comfort, practicality and ease of everyday driving at an affordable price, the new models bring a smooth and relaxed experience as well as combine generous cabin space, refined comfort, smart connectivity and comprehensive safety, with a strong range of features that can be appreciated by all customers.
The introduction of the new additions to the Proton S70 range broadens the lineup and builds on the strong market momentum of the model, which has recorded average monthly sales of more than 2,500 units in 2026.

Both variants are powered by an i-GT 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), delivering an easy-going driving experience suited to daily commuting, family journeys and customers looking for a practical step into the Proton S70 family.
They also retain key characteristics that define the Proton S70, including PROTON Ride & Handling and three selectable drive modes.
The new Lite and Prime variants are designed to offer customers more than just an accessible entry into the S70 family. Across both variants, the expanded Proton S70 range delivers 10 class-leading features spanning space & comfort, intelligence connectivity & convenient and comprehensive safety.
These include class-leading cabin space, rear passenger shoulder room, a soft-touch instrument panel, all windows Auto Up/Down with Anti Trap, an Electric Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Brake Hold, remote engine start, wireless Android Auto™ and pple CarPlay®, as well as Rear Side Radar System, Reverse Camera and Rear Seat Reminder.

The wider body provides greater shoulder room for rear passengers, while the near-flat rear floor makes better use of the rear passenger area. This allows three passengers to sit more comfortably side by side, making the PROTON S70 Lite and Prime variants well suited to families and longer journeys. Both variants feature wireless Android Auto™ and pple CarPlay®, while also offering features including Electric Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Brake Hold, all windows Auto Up/Down with Anti Trap, remote engine start and five USB ports, with equipment varying by variant.
Safety is supported by six airbags, front and rear parking sensors and a suite of driver-assistance through Rear Side Radar System that consist of Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Door Opening Warning and Rear Collision Warning. On top of that, customers can also benefit from Rear Seat Reminder & Reverse Camera as standard.
