Amazfit has introduced the T-Rex Dual Solar, a premium expedition smartwatch featuring the world’s first dual-sided solar charging system on an AMOLED smartwatch. Designed for outdoor adventures, it combines a vibrant display, extended battery life and advanced navigation tools for exploring beyond the grid.

Dual-Sided Solar Charging Extends Battery Life
The T-Rex Dual Solar offers up to 25 days of typical battery life, with solar charging extending it to up to 34 days under Amazfit’s specified testing conditions. Its front solar panel collects energy while worn in sunlight, while a larger solar panel integrated into the glass-ceramic back plate allows additional energy collection when the watch is off the wrist.

Solar Priority Mode enables ultra-low-power operation to maximise solar energy recovery, while Outdoor Extreme battery mode helps conserve power during extended trips without sacrificing essential outdoor functions. The new Expedition activity mode further supports multi-day adventures away from traditional power sources.
“With T-Rex Dual Solar, we didn’t want users to have to choose between the bright, premium display they want every day and the battery endurance they need outdoors,” said Sara Webster Wylie, VP of Global Marketing at Amazfit. “Bringing AMOLED and solar together for the first time lets us deliver both.”
Built for Extreme Conditions
Designed for demanding environments, the smartwatch features a Grade 5 titanium bezel, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a 1.32-inch AMOLED display with up to 3,000 nits peak brightness. It also offers 10 ATM water resistance, recreational diving support up to 50 metres and a built-in flashlight with a red-light option.
Powered by a 660 mAh battery, the watch delivers up to 41 hours in Accuracy GPS Mode, alongside its typical battery life of up to 25 days.
Advanced Navigation for Outdoor Adventures

The T-Rex Dual Solar comes with full-colour preloaded maps, downloadable contour and ski maps, turn-by-turn navigation, waypoint navigation and points of interest (POI) display. Its Navigation Gradient Curve provides a colour-coded elevation profile to help users anticipate climbs and descents.
LiveShare also allows users to share their real-time location, heading and activity information with friends, family or teammates.
“In the mountains, navigation is one of the most important safety tools you have,” said Jost Kobusch, Amazfit athlete and alpinist. “The interesting thing about solar charging isn’t convenience, it’s having a genuine backup when you’re far from civilisation.”
Meanwhile, the Zepp App brings training, recovery and outdoor activity data together with personalised insights, without requiring a subscription.
