From Breast Cancer Survivor to Founder, Malaysian Doctor Inspires Women Through Aglow Cup 2026

What started as a personal battle against breast cancer has become a meaningful mission to inspire women to prioritise their health, stay active and support one another.

Breast cancer survivor Dr. Amelia Siah, Founder and CEO of Aglow Clinic, has turned her life-changing experience into a community initiative through Aglow Cup 2026, which combines padel, wellness and breast cancer awareness.

Held on 10 October 2026 at Pop Padel, Bamboo Hills, Kuala Lumpur, in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the event was introduced as Malaysia’s first women’s padel initiative led by an aesthetic clinic.

A Mother’s Battle Against Breast Cancer

Behind the initiative lies an inspiring story of resilience and determination.

In 2020, just months after giving birth to her first child, Dr. Amelia discovered a lump in her breast while preparing to open Aglow Clinic.

What initially appeared to be a small lump was later diagnosed as breast cancer, changing her life at a time when she was navigating motherhood and pursuing her entrepreneurial dreams.

Her treatment journey involved 16 cycles of chemotherapy, 20 radiotherapy sessions, surgery and oral medication.

Despite the physical exhaustion and emotional challenges, Dr. Amelia found strength in her daughter and family, who supported her throughout the difficult period.

After approximately one and a half years of treatment, she was declared cancer-free.

The experience transformed her perspective on health, inspiring her to encourage other women to pay closer attention to their bodies and recognise the importance of regular health screenings.

More Than Just a Padel Tournament

For Dr. Amelia, Aglow Cup 2026 represents more than a sporting competition. It is an opportunity to bring women together and encourage conversations about breast health.

“Aglow Cup is not just about playing padel. It is about bringing women together through sport and wellness, while creating space for an important conversation about our health,” she said.

“As a breast cancer survivor, I understand how important it is for us to know our own bodies and take our health seriously.”

The event featured a women’s padel competition with a total prize pool of RM50,000, alongside wellness activities including Pilates, Core & Mobility sessions, Spinalive Recovery Massage experiences and interactive games.

Participants also had access to clinical breast examinations and breast self-examination education conducted by the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA).

Through these activities, the initiative aimed to make breast health education more accessible while encouraging women to adopt healthier lifestyles.

Supporting the Breast Cancer Community

Beyond promoting physical activity and wellness, Aglow Cup 2026 also carried a charitable mission.

According to the organisers, 100% of charity proceeds from the event will be channelled to BCWA, supporting its efforts to raise awareness, provide education and assist communities affected by breast cancer.

The collaboration also provided opportunities for participants to learn about breast health and the importance of appropriate screenings.

Dr. Amelia hopes the initiative will remind women that taking care of themselves should never be treated as an afterthought.

“I hope Aglow Cup reminds women that taking care of ourselves is not something we should put aside. Sometimes, it starts with something as simple as staying active, having a conversation about our health or going for a health check-up,” she shared.

Through Aglow Cup 2026, her journey from cancer survivor to entrepreneur serves as a reminder that personal challenges can inspire positive change for others.

With 18 branches across Malaysia, Aglow Clinic continues to expand its involvement beyond aesthetics and skincare by supporting initiatives focused on women’s health, wellness and empowerment.
