Setiap Smash Membawa Harapan, promoting early detection, an active lifestyle and support for women battling breast cancer.
Combining the spirit of sportsmanship with a meaningful health message, NONA Pickleball: Pinktober Smash 2026 took place today at Brio Social Club, IPC Shopping Centre, Mutiara Damansara, marking the culmination of NONA Pinktober 2026 in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Presented by NONA in collaboration with seeNI, the event carried the message “Setiap Smash Membawa Harapan”, bringing together sports, a healthy lifestyle and solidarity with women battling breast cancer. The initiative also encouraged the public to speak more openly about breast health and understand the importance of early detection.
More than just a sporting event, NONA Pickleball: Pinktober Smash 2026 translated awareness into action through a lifestyle platform that resonates with the community. Through pickleball, participants and visitors came together to support the message that self-care, awareness of changes in one’s body and seeking medical examinations should never be delayed.
Throughout October, NONA Pinktober 2026 has pursued a broader mission through the sharing of breast cancer survivors’ stories, informative content on risks and symptoms, and calls for women to take proactive steps towards managing their own health.
These efforts emphasise that awareness must be accompanied by action. Knowing one’s body, paying attention to suspicious changes and seeking advice from healthcare professionals are important steps towards improving early detection.
As a charity-driven event, 100 per cent of the prize money from NONA Pickleball: Pinktober Smash 2026 will be channelled to the charitable partners or hospitals represented by each doubles team.
The tournament offered prize money of RM5,000 for the champion, RM3,000 for the runner-up and RM2,000 for third place, alongside five consolation prizes worth RM500 each. Every player also had the opportunity to take home exclusive gifts from our sponsoring partners, LARRIE and TOUJOURS.
Organisations supporting this breast cancer awareness initiative include the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia (BCWA), National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), National Cancer Society (MAKNA), Pink Ribbon Wellness (L) Foundation, Breast Cancer Foundation, Cancer Research Malaysia, Picaso Hospital and the Society for Cancer Advocacy and Awareness Kuching (SCAN).
The involvement of these charitable partners highlights the importance of collaboration in amplifying awareness, encouraging support for the patient community and strengthening breast cancer advocacy efforts.
The event also featured a line-up of well-known personalities, including Yasmin Hani, Sazzy Falak, Daphne Iking, Nadia Annuar, Dayah Bakar and Dahlia Rizal. Also present were singer Nas Adila, who was a stage three breast cancer survivor, alongside national athlete Syaidatul Afifah. Fiza Frizzy hosted the event, adding to the lively atmosphere.
The event was further graced by the special appearances of Miss Universe Malaysia 2026, Eunice Wong, and Miss Universe Malaysia National Director, Ayu Omar, who joined the initiative in support of breast cancer awareness.
With a pink and sporty casual dress code, the event brought the spirit of Pinktober to life in a relaxed and active setting, while encouraging the public to recognise that health awareness can be promoted through inclusive approaches that are relevant to everyday life.
NONA remains committed to amplifying women’s stories, expanding access to meaningful information and encouraging actions that can bring about positive change.
Because awareness is more than wearing pink. It is about having the courage to learn, get screened and support one another. On the pickleball court, the message remains clear: “Setiap Smash Membawa Harapan”.
