Following the announcement of their long-term creative partnership at Paris Fashion Week in June, Under Armour and Feng Chen Wang unveiled the Rebel Daughter collection in Shanghai on October 14, under the theme “One of One. Never Alone.”

Celebrating Strength Through Self-Expression
Marking the collection’s first full presentation in China, the event brought together Under Armour’s performance innovation and Feng Chen Wang’s creative vision, exploring the intersection of sport, culture and contemporary design.
Rebel Daughter celebrates women who challenge conventions, embrace change and forge their own paths. Rooted in tradition but unbound by it, the collection reflects a vision of strength that goes beyond physical performance to encompass individuality, confidence and solidarity.
The Dual Meaning Behind “WU”
The collection’s creative narrative centres on “WU”, a concept inspired by two Chinese characters with the same pronunciation:
- “武” (martial strength): Representing power, speed, precision and the discipline of martial arts.
- “舞” (dance): Capturing fluidity, rhythm, freedom and the expressive movements of contemporary dance.
These contrasting yet complementary disciplines inspire both the collection and its runway performances.
“My initial inspiration came from how clothing connects with the body and moves with it. What truly connects Under Armour and Feng Chen Wang is a shared understanding of the power of the body, expressed through both performance and self-expression,” said Feng Chen Wang.
“Through Rebel Daughter, we hope to inspire more women to move, express themselves and stand on their own terms, while staying true to themselves and recognising one another,” she added.
Where Performance Meets Eastern Design
As the first complete collection from the partnership, Rebel Daughter combines Under Armour’s performance fabrics with Chinese-inspired details, including Ruyi knot closures, standing collars, tassels, asymmetrical construction and streamlined tailoring designed to move with the female body.
Presented in black, Kona brown and red, the collection blends functional sportswear with Eastern symbolism and contemporary urban style, transitioning seamlessly from training sessions to streetwear and everyday dressing.
Introducing the UA Flare Collaboration
The partnership’s first footwear release brings the collection’s dual “WU” inspiration to the UA Flare. Designed for city movement and everyday wear, the collaborative shoe combines a streamlined silhouette with subtle colour transitions and a black-and-white palette.
A cushioned midsole and patterned rubber outsole provide comfort and grip, balancing practical performance with distinctive design.
The UA x Feng Chen Wang collection will be available in limited quantities at the Under Armour Brand House at Suria KLCC and online at underarmour.com.my later this year.
