Huawei Malaysia And CelcomDigi Partner To Develop Future-Ready Digital Talent

Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia) and CelcomDigi Berhad have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The three-year partnership aims to strengthen digital talent development across CelcomDigi’s workforce.

Through this collaboration, Huawei Malaysia will provide access to its global learning ecosystem and technology expertise. CelcomDigi employees will benefit from advanced training, leadership development and industry-recognised certifications.

Three-year collaboration aims to equip CelcomDigi employees with industry-leading skills in AI, Data Analytics, 5G and Cloud technologies.

The programmes will focus on key growth areas, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Analytics, 5G and Cloud technologies. The initiative also aims to create more opportunities for continuous learning, professional growth and career development.

Building A Workforce Ready For Future Technologies

As AI and emerging technologies continue transforming industries, organisations must constantly strengthen their capabilities. This helps them remain competitive and deliver greater value to customers.

The partnership supports CelcomDigi’s ambition to develop a future-ready workforce. It aims to equip employees with the skills needed to drive innovation and accelerate transformation. They will also be better positioned to seize opportunities in an increasingly digital economy.

Combining Global Expertise With Practical Training

Simon Sun, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Malaysia, highlighted the importance of talent in digital transformation.

He said the MoU would deepen the companies’ longstanding partnership. Huawei Malaysia will contribute its global learning practices and established talent development framework.

The programmes will cover executive digital leadership and business growth enablement. They will also include enterprise-wide industrial certification and digital transformation ecosystem development.

Sun added that both organisations aim to turn global best practices into practical capabilities. This will support CelcomDigi’s internal transformation and contribute to Malaysia’s sustainable digital development.

Strengthening Leadership And Digital Capabilities

CelcomDigi Chief Executive Officer Albern Murty also emphasised the importance of continuous learning and innovation.

He noted that organisations must adapt and learn faster as technology reshapes industries. Building these capabilities requires sustained investment in people.

Through the partnership, CelcomDigi aims to strengthen its employees’ leadership, digital fluency and innovation capabilities. The initiative will help its workforce navigate today’s digital economy and shape future opportunities.

Employees To Gain Access To Industry-Recognised Certifications

The collaboration will introduce strategic learning pathways to accelerate talent development across CelcomDigi.

Employees will gain exposure to emerging technologies, innovation frameworks and industry use cases. These learning opportunities will support business growth, operational excellence and digital transformation.

They can also pursue Huawei Malaysia certifications at three levels: associate, professional and expert.

Building On A Longstanding Partnership

The MoU builds on previous collaborations between Huawei Malaysia and CelcomDigi. These initiatives have included leadership programmes, professional certifications and large-scale learning engagements.

Both organisations have also conducted technology-sharing sessions to strengthen industry knowledge.

Moving forward, they aim to nurture a competitive workforce equipped with world-class digital skills. Their collaboration will support the development of future digital services. It also aims to advance technological excellence across Malaysia.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Huawei Asia Pacific President Terry He and CelcomDigi Chief Human Resources Officer Azmi Ujang.

CelcomDigi CEO Albern Murty and Huawei Malaysia CEO Simon Sun formalised the agreement during the ceremony.
