Caernarfon, United Kingdom, a man found bizarre-looking sea creatures washing up on a beach and could be worth a fortune.
Martyn Green with his family was on a weekend away near Caernarfon in North Wales when they discovered across what seemed to be a large piece of driftwood.
On closer inspection, he then found out that thousands of tentacled creatures had attached themselves to the log. In the video, can be seen the weird-looking creatures poking in and out of their shells which totally look the same just like in an Alien movie and that is something that Martyn has never seen before.
He said, “My wife Gemma, she found it. We were walking on the beach and she called us and said ‘come back, look at this.”
“We went and had a look and it looked like something not of this world. It was quite an attraction for the locals,” he added.
He then searched for the answers about what it is actually the creatures that they discovered and found out it’s called Gooseneck Barnacles. It is a rare specimen and considered a delicacy in countries such as Portugal and Spain.
He said, “It turns out they are one of the most expensive sea creatures you can buy.”
“From looking on Google I think it’s about £25 (RM130) each they go for, and on the log, there were probably about 2,000 of them,” he added.
The creatures can reach up to £322 (RM1700) per kilo when it comes to peak season.
In order to avoid from people flocking to the scene, Martyn, who runs a marketing agency, did not reveal where it is located.
