Cleansing the skin using a cleansing oil is no longer just a trending topic but it is a key and important in the daily routine of beauty for an individual. Those with skin problems can be solved and repaired by simply cleansing the skin the right way.

For those who like to wear makeup, this cleansing oil should be your best friend. With some techniques and methods, makeup and dirt can be removed from the pores on the face without causing it to clog.

Did you know that you may have made some mistakes while using a cleansing oil? It does not matter if you have sensitive skin or acne-prone.

1. Mixing With Water

Differences Between Oil-Based And Water-Based Cleanser
Although referred to as ‘cleansing’, it is different from face wash where face wash needs to be mixed with water before use. In contrast to cleansing oil, the texture does not require a mixture of water.

According to Dr. Nazarian, dermatologists say many women use cleansing oil by mixing it with water before applying it on the face. When mixed with water, it will not be able to help your skin but even give ‘problems’.

“Cleansing oil is intended to blend with natural oils on the face, dirt, and makeup. When you mix it with water, it will interfere with the cleaning process, ”he said.

When you apply cleansing oil on the face, it will blend with oil and dirt on the face to facilitate the removal process without leaving your pores clogged and causing the face to breakout.

Instead of mixing it with water, use a cleansing oil in sufficient amounts, and apply it on the face. Perform a circular motion and massage on dry skin.

2. Using Cold Water

Here Is Why You Should Wash Your Face With Cold Water
After making a circular motion on dry skin and removing it with a cotton swab or a soft cloth, you need to wash your face with water.

Should you use cold water? Hot or warm? This is something you need to remember! Never use cold water after massaging the face with cleansing oil. Instead, use warm water on the face to wash off excess cleansing oil.

Why not use cold water? Scientifically, oil molecules cannot react with cold water molecules. If you keep using cold water, it will make the excess oil hard and clogged in the pores.

When it becomes hard and changes to a solid-state, it is useless for you to wash your face using cleansing oil as it will become clogged.

So use warm water because it can keep the oil molecules on the face and cleansing oil in a liquid state and facilitate the cleansing process. But you need to remember, use only warm water instead of cold or hot water because hot water can damage your skin barrier.

3. Do Not Rinse Completely And Properly

Unlike facial oils that provide moisture after moisturizing, this cleansing oil needs to be completely removed from the skin. If not cleaned properly, this excess cleansing oil will trigger your skin to becomes itchy and make your skin stop receiving nutrients from other skincare products.

When your skin becomes itchy, know that it is actually because the cleansing oil that is not completely washed has disrupted the absorption process of other skincare products for your skin.

So, to completely cleanse the cleansing oil from your skin, you need to wipe it with a soft cloth or face cotton until you are sure it has been removed. Wipe around the hairline, chin, and sides of the face.

Then, use warm water and face wash and massage your face for 60 seconds gently for the process of cleaning the pores from clogging with residual dirt or cleansing oil.

Initially, use cleansing oil to remove dirt but if this small mistake is made, it can harm your skin.
