The police have identified a mother and her two-year-old daughter who were found dead in West London in a suspected murder-suicide.
Homicide police are investigating the deaths of 25-year-old Shiwangi Bagoan and Ziana Bagoan, but do not think someone else has been involved.
After police and paramedics were called to the scene shortly after 4 pm on Monday, the pair were pronounced dead at the scene in Old Meadow Lane, Hounslow.
“This is a tragic incident. We are extremely saddened by the deaths of Shiwangi, a young mother, and her daughter,” Detective Chief Inspector Helen Rance said.
“Our deepest condolences go to her family, friends, and colleagues at this difficult and upsetting time.
“Officers are currently investigating the circumstances around their deaths, and inquiries continue.”
The bodies of the pair were discovered in a fourth-floor flat in Drake Court.
“It is very disturbing,” said a 24-year-old man who lives in the building but didn’t want to be identified.
“I have never had something like this happen in my life so close to home. It is pretty awful,” he said.
Ms. Bagoan reportedly worked for the University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) as an anesthetist’s assistant.
In a statement, a UCLH spokesperson said: “We are extremely saddened by the deaths of Shiwangi and her child. Our deepest condolences go to her family, friends, and loved ones at this very difficult time.
“Shiwangi was a highly valued member of our team and she will be missed by her colleagues.
“As the police are currently investigating the circumstances around the deaths, it would not be appropriate to comment further at this stage,” said the spokesperson.
