SEREMBAN, Dec 31 — A man died after the trailer he was driving was involved in an accident with two other lorries at Kilometre 273.7 southbound of the North-South Expressway early this morning.
In the 6.37 am incident, the 39-year-old victim was pronounced dead by a medical team from Tuanku Jaafar Hospital, Seremban (HTJS).
Nilai district police chief Supt Mohd Fazley Ab Rahman said the accident occurred when the victim who was driving the trailer carrying a load of tar rammed into the back of another trailer transporting fertiliser before skidding and crashing into a container truck loaded with plasticware on the extreme left lane.
“As a result of the crash, the victim was pinned to driver’s seat and was confirmed dead at the scene,” he said in a statement today.
According to him, the two other lorry drivers, aged 40 and 55 were unhurt.
He said the victim was sent to HTJS for post-mortem and the case would be investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
