The cumulative number of COVID-19 positive cases worldwide now exceeds 104.26 million cases. It follows hundreds of thousands of new cases detected in the last 24 hours.
Johns Hopkins University’s latest data shows the United States remains the worst-affected country with over 26.54 million cases.
This was followed by India with 10.77 million cases and Brazil with over 9.28 million cases.
While countries that exceed 3 million cases are the United Kingdom, Russia, and France.
Spain, Italy, Turkey, Germany, and Colombia recorded over 2 million cases.
Argentina, Mexico, Poland, South Africa, Iran, Ukraine, Peru, Indonesia, Czechia, and the Netherlands are among the countries that recorded more than a million positive cases.
Canada, Portugal, Chile, Romania, Belgium, Israel, Iraq, Sweden, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Philippines, and Switzerland are among the countries that recorded more than 500,000 cases.
Countries in the range of 300,000 to 500,000 cases include Morocco, Austria, Serbia, Japan, Hungary, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Panama, United Arab Emirates, and Lebanon.
Other countries recorded positive numbers between 100,000 and 300,000 cases and that includes Malaysia.
Meanwhile, the death toll from COVID-19 worldwide now exceeds 2.26 million cases.
Based on Johns Hopkins University data, the United States remains the highest number of deaths with 450,200 cases.
