Recently there is an announcement of an outbreak in the Juventus FC. Their fears have become reality as one of the players, Leonardo Bonucci tested positive for Covid-19 upon returning from international duty.
The full statement regarding Bonucci as released by Juventus on their official website are as follows:
“Leonardo Bonucci, upon returning from the Italian national team, this morning underwent a diagnostic molecular test for COVID-19 which came back positive. The player is now in home isolation.”
On Wednesday, the national team confirmed that four of its staff members tested positive for the virus. This sparked some serious concerns over the health of the players who were part of the camp.
Juventus are supposed to play against Torino in the Derby della Mole on Saturday. This is before hosting Napoli in the previously postponed match on Wednesday.
NT coach Roberto Mancini called up the defender and three other Bianconeri players. Captain Giorgio Chiellini got an early leave after the victory against Northern Ireland last Thursday. Bonucci, however, remained with the Azzurri alongside Federico Chiesa and Federico Bernardeschi.
