Jokingly, a friend and business partner who accompanied him on his paddling escapade, told him that he would see his phone again in a year or so. But little did he know it became a reality. After some drought, the water level went down considerably and his friend managed to retrieve his phone from the mud. His friend texted him about the retrieval success.

Chen didn’t really have his hopes up for the phone working well. It is after all the phone had been lying on the bottom of Sun Moon Lake for over a year. But after opening it up, he was shocked to see that his iPhone 11 was as dry as a bone. The wireless charging and the cable charging functions worked perfectly. Once it was well-charged, the phone booted and worked perfectly.

His friend also fished out a Nokia from the mud. It seems that Chen is not the only one who dropped their phone into the lake.
