It all started during the second MCO. Ammayi used to make her own style of traditional coffee like how her mother would do it in the 60s. With help from her niece, Kanmani, they have managed to take their small business online and didn’t expect that it will go so viral.

Sinnamah is Ammayi’s real name. She was born in 1941 in Kampung Columbia, Perak. She began cooking when she was just 12 years old, following her mother’s traditional recipe from Southern India, who was also a first-generation Indian in Malaysia. Ammayi enjoys cooking with her own organic vegetables that she grows by herself at her home.

Ammayi has become the biggest inspiration for those who know her. She’s turning 80 years next year and is still going strong. Her desire is that the upcoming generations know and practice traditions that have been in existence.
