This particular dog, however, has definitely outdone itself. Generally, dogs run or walk using all four legs and that’s absolutely normal but have you seen a dog walking like humans?

Meet Dexter, the Internet’s latest obsession. The 6-year-old Brittany Spaniel has gone viral on social media for his astonishing ability to walk long distances while standing on his hind legs in his hometown of Ouray, Colorado. Despite the astonishing talent Dexter has, the reason for this miracle is rather heartbreaking.
The Accident
Dexter escaped from his Ouray home in 2016, when he was barely a year old while searching for nearby deer, and dashed out into the road, where a truck drove over both of the canine’s front legs. His owners didn’t think he’d be able to survive without two legs, and putting him down was not an option.
Dexter’s physician was confident in the pup’s potential to survive and thrive following the injury, so he amputated one of his front legs and surgically implanted pins in the other. Dexter began learning to walk on his hind legs with ease after numerous operations and extensive rehabilitation.

Dexter’s owner discovered that he had learnt to walk like a human one day after his long rehabilitation. She’d carried him outside and placed him on the grass before returning to grab her coffee, and the dog was already on their porch when she returned.
She returned him to the grass, perplexed. Dexter limped to the foot of the stairs, stood up on his hind legs, and went up the stairs and back onto the porch, according to her.

Dexter soon began walking entirely on his back legs. An onlooker captured Dexter’s unusual strut as the dog was out for a walk and submitted the footage to TikTok. Dexter became an internet celebrity after the video went viral. He’s been featured in a variety of media venues since then, including a clip-on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Dexter’s owner now spends her days monitoring Dexter’s social media profiles — but not to profit from Dexter’s talents, as she explained to the media. She merely wants to share his strength and bravery with the rest of the world.
Dexter’s attitude, according to Pasek, has always been “Hey, everything’s wonderful!” and provides optimism that we will be able to emerge from this as a world.
