Recently, ByteDance has discretely launched a new search engine in China. It is widely known by the public that Google is indeed got banned there. The Wukong search app is definitely the replacement there. According to the South China Morning Post website, “this Wukong search app launch is within days of Tencent Holdings shutting down on August 8 the Sogou search app”.

This has officially made ByteDance company into closer competition with Baidu. For those who might not know, Baidu is surely China’s dominant search engine.
