“Abe Bomba” went viral all over “TikTok” ever since their appearance during the 20022 Merdeka Parade. Their iconic appearance and poses had caught many Malaysians’ eyes as well as Singaporeans and some Malaysians even started to make “TikTok” on wanting “Bomba” or firefighters to save them during accidents.
As firefighters have taken a place in Malaysians’ hearts, they are now more eager to meet firefighters in person. But, where can they meet these firefighters? Everyone knows they are busy saving people and animals’ lives and can only be seen when there is an accident.
One of the earliest fire stations in Malaysia
Do you know that there is a “rare” fire station located in Penang? It is “Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Lebuh Pantai” and also known as The Central Fire Station. Central Fire Station is the first fire station on Penang Island and one of the earliest fire stations built in Malaysia. Interestingly, this fire station is located within George Town’s UNESCO World Heritage Site and is well known for its architectural styles that were inspired by Mughal-styled and a mix of Edwardian influences.
The most fascinating part is this fire station is public-friendly. People can visit the gallery inside the fire station along with their family and friends for FREE. Children for sure have the most fun visiting it as they can role-play as fire-fighter by wearing the official uniform and riding the fire engine. While visiting, the actual firefighters will assist you throughout your visit. They will guide you on how they use the equipment and you can also try the equipment itself.
So, what are you waiting for? Go grab the chance to meet real Malaysian heroes. It opens every day from 8:00 A.M until 11:59 P.M. For more information, do visit Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Lebuh Pantai on Facebook.
