It was reported that all 4 police officers that were involved in the murders of George Floyd in Minneapolis has been charged on Wednesday.
One of the ex-police officers, Derek Chauvin is now charged with second-degree murder. Derek previously was charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter after he was pressing his knees on Floyd’s neck for more than 9 minutes and resulting in his death.
While the other three that is Thomas Lane, J. Alexander Kueng, and Tou Thao will be charged for aiding and abetting second-degree murder and aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter.
Since been arrested, the bail of $1 million (RM4,279,000.00) has been set for each one of them.
“I strongly believe that these developments are in the interest of justice for Mr. Floyd, his family, our community and our state,” said Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison when announcing the charges.
