A Malaysian, Azhar Mohamad, 37, is finally home in Malaysia after receiving treatment for a stroke in South Korea. The Foreign Minister is finding a way to settle the treatment payment, costing RM280,000. Azhar’s family had paid a part of the medical costs. Moreover, the public also helped in paying for the Azhar’s treatment.
Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, said the government will help Azhar. Azhar received treatment at Changbuk National University Hospital. The government will help pay the medical costs within 12 months as directed by the hospital. For Information.
Azhar was back home at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) yesterday, welcomed by Saifuddin at 5;15 p.m. Azhar’s two sisters, Fazillah, aged 35, and Hanim, 34, along his cousin, Noradilawaty, 44, were there to accompany Azhar.

Saifuddin received the information about Azhar receiving treatment for stroke on 31st August this year. Azhar was a factory operator in South Korea, then was taken to a hospital in South Korea. As he is home now, he will undergo further treatment at Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAF) in Kuantan.
For those who are abroad, Saifuddin advises them to inform their whereabouts at the nearest Malaysian representative offices. This is because it is crucial for facilitation during emergencies and for the government to send help as quickly as possible.
