The development – and in particular – the further development of the pilot watch, has long been the focus of the watch manufacturer Laco. For this reason, the traditional brand is now reviving its classic “Kiel” in two new color variants. Both models convince with thoughtful details and a design inspired by historical pilot watches, for which Laco stands like hardly any other brand. With an optimized case with a reduced height and a water resistance of up to 10 ATMs, the new “Kiel.2 Schwarz” and “Kiel.2 Weiss” are the perfect companions for all challenges of everyday life and beyond.
Love for history & progress
With the unmistakable design of a pilot watch and the high functionality of a chronograph, these sporty and elegant timepieces combine two of the most successful watch types ever. The instrument look is inspired by the historical models of earlier times. The current Laco pilot watches still bring the characteristics of the historical models, such as perfect readability, robust features, and fine vintage aesthetics to the wrist. This applies especially to the new “Kiel” pilot chronograph, which was built in its first version with a black dial until 2018 and was later available again in a limited edition. For the new edition of the model, the challenge was to make the proportions more elegant, but at the same time maintain a high level of recognizability. Laco has succeeded in doing just that. In addition to the black version, there is now also a counterpart with a white dial.
Love in details
The case of the two classic pilot chronographs has been subtly reworked and reduced to a contemporary diameter of 43 millimeters. With an equally reduced height of 14 millimeters, the timepieces also cut a fine figure under a shirt cuff. The discreet use of polished surfaces on the bezel and pushers enhances the visual impression in interplay with the brushed stainless steel case. With a water resistance of 10 ATM, the watches are suitable for almost all activities in and around water. To match, Laco offers a metal bracelet as an alternative to the black leather strap with decorative rivets. Also, the new generation anti-reflective sapphire crystals, as well as the use of Superluminova C3 on individual elements of the dial and the thermally blued hands ensure the best readability even in poor lighting conditions and in the dark.
Love for quality
The timepieces are equipped with the automatic chronograph caliber Laco 500, which can be admired through a sapphire crystal case back. It is based on the proven Swiss Sellita SW500 movement in Elaboré quality and has a power reserve of at least 56 hours. Optionally, Laco also offers the movement at the Top quality level. In addition, Laco also offers the possibility of a case engraving, as well as the installation of a double anti-reflective sapphire crystal or an English date disc.
The Kiel.2 Schwarz (black version) and Kiel.2 Weiss (white version) will be available from Laco and authorized retailers from autumn 2022, starting at MYR 10950 (with leather strap).
