Attack on Titan creator, Hajime Isayama apologized to fans for the ending of the Attack on Titan manga at a panel at Anime NYC. Isayama at Anime NYC marks his first appearance in the US.
During the panel, Isayama answered multiple questions and revealed interesting facts about the popular manga series. He also talked about the ending of the manga, which, to some fans, is seen as controversial.
Isayama expressed his doubt when discussing the Attack on Titan series’ last chapter. He had a habit of being hard on his own work, and the bad feedback made him question whether or not to publish the novel’s conclusion, but he’s pleased he did.
A fan asked “Did you know how you wanted to end Attack on Titan from the very beginning?” Isayama answered through a translator that he doubts himself on the ending of the series. “I still struggle on this point,” He said. “I’m very sorry about that.”
The moment that he apologized for the ending, fans reacted with cheers cheering him on. This almost brought tears to Isayamas’ eyes.
