The PlayStation 5 could be supported in future Honda electric vehicles. It is part of a strategy hatched by Sony and Honda to provide passengers with more in-car entertainment.
Izumi Kawanishi, president and chief operating officer of Sony Honda Mobility, recently told the Financial Times that the PlayStation 5 can be integrated into vehicles.
In order to better compete with other electric models like Tesla, Sony’s goal is to develop a vehicle. A vehicle that focuses more on the driving experience as an entertainment medium. Also, the console and other services provided by Sony are part of that larger vision.
“Sony has content, services and entertainment technologies that move people. We are adapting these assets to mobility, and this is our strength against Tesla,”

Moreover, the CEO of Sony Honda has stated that the company’s upcoming hardware “will cater to the entertainment and network we would like to offer.”
In addition, Yasuhide Mizuno, the chair of the joint venture, stated that the company would launch its first car model in the North American market by 2025. Also, with a focus on putting content first in its production processes.
This year, Sony and Honda started working together. Kawanishi said that part of their plan is to make progress in “autonomous driving.”
