Due to the road bump, Kota Anggerik’s ADUN Najwan Halimi demands MBSA take immediate action. Previously, in 2019, Malaysia was greeted with the news of the tragic death of Saidatul Ain Nabila Rosli, a student at Universiti Selangor (UNISEL). The cause of her death was the severe injury she had in her head and other body parts. She was involved in an accident while she was crossing the road at Persiaran Institut, Seksyen 7, Shah Alam.
Recently, yesterday, another accident almost happen in the same area where a few drivers almost lost control of their vehicles due to a road bump.
According to a Twitter user, the road bump is not visible as no yellow lines are drawn. Therefore, many drivers fail to notice them.
Kota Anggerik’s ADUN, Najwan Halimi, shares his concerns on Twitter regarding this issue
In his tweets, a few highlighted situations from the accidents that happened in 2019 and recently.
- Supposedly, in 2019, a budget of RM1 million was given by MBSA to build an overbridge for the students of UNISEL. This will increase the student’s safety as the road is often busy with many cars.
- The budget was granted following the accident that took away the UNISEL student’s life.
- After three years, there is no sign of construction still. The project hasn’t started even though the budget was given three years ago.
- A road bump is an alternate option from the supposedly-built overbridge in 2020.
- Kota Anggerik’s ADUN hopes that MBSA, led by the new mayor, will take immediate action and resume the plan of building an overbridge there.
- Najwan Halimi also believes that the construction cost is adjusted reasonably.
- Thus, Najwan affirms that the overbridge benefits many people. It also enhances the safety of everyone, especially UNISEL students.
Kota Anggerik’s ADUN visited the location
Moreover, Najwan visited the site by himself yesterday. In his Facebook post, he said MBSA was in the process of upgrading the bump to avoid future accidents from happening.
MBSA informs they’re upgrading the road bump
Regarding this issue, MBSA (@sacitycouncil) shared a Tweet yesterday that Jalan Persiaran Tun Arshad Ayub, which is in front of UNISEL, was closed for upgrading purposes.

But there’s still no definite answer whether they will build the overbridge as expected in 2020.
