Escalator is one of the most crucial facilities around the world. If we can be honest, there are a lot of facilities in public transport services that need to be upgraded and maintained. It will be difficult for the disabled and the elderly to use the stairs due to health concerns. But this doesn’t stop here— other facilities in shopping malls or R&R stops should be fixed and maintained too.
Many Malaysians have been discussing this issue for years. Since the number of public transport users is increasing, many face the same problem whenever they’re using the facility, especially during peak hours.
Therefore, the news of the sudden repairment of KLCC’s LRT escalator shocked many Malaysians! Some aren’t even aware the escalator was fixed!
KLCC’s LRT escalator is functioning! Is it really happening?
@tengkumer Is this really happening? 😲
@zimilx After 1000 years, we can finally see some improvement at the KLCC subway station.
Yesterday, TikTok was full of people sharing the sight of the now-working escalator of three years of alleged ‘maintenance’.
A coincidence?
After the 15th General Election ended, Malaysians saw progressive changes in the country. But is it a coincidence that these transformations and repair works happen because of the new government?
Last week, the Minister of Transport, Anthony Loke, made a surprise visit to the LRT Kelana Jaya Line. He was inspecting the situation during busy peak hours commuters go through every day. He stated the maintenance work in Malaysia is still in the third class, although the public transport services are gradually enhancing.
Hence, some netizens on TikTok jokingly said that the escalator was fixed before the Minister of Transport could make a surprise visit to places that needed fixation.
Some also thanked the minister’s initiative to make it happen.
We hope they’ll continue to make necessary upgrades to the facilities.
If our public transport undergoes efficient maintaining progress, many people will use it. Thus, this will also improve Malaysia’s economic state.
