According to Jabatan Mineral Dan Geosains Malaysia (JMG), there is a total of 7305 accidents due to landslides in 61 years. From the year of 1961 until 2022, landslides are one of the natural disasters that happen in Malaysia aside from floods.
Malaysia is still mourning and grieving the tragedy in Batang Kali. The massive landslides have caused more than 20 deaths. Until this day, the process of finding other victims of the landslides is still ongoing.
Malaysia is currently having a monsoon season. Thus, the weather is damp, and there is a chance for landslides to occur. Therefore, to adventurers and travellers out there, do make sure to always prioritize your safety.
