It is sadly reported that Musthafa Kamal Varusai Mohamad, the ‘bubur lambuk’ maker at the Ipoh Indian Mosque, passed away last night. The late Mustafha Kamal used to distribute ‘bubur lambuk’ at the mosque during the Ramadhan month.
A person named Seena Abbas Ali on Facebook informed the news to the public. She revealed that Mamu Musthafa Kamal bin Varusai Mohamed returned to ‘Rahmatullah’ on the 20th of December 2022 at 12:40 a.m.
The late ‘bubur lambuk’ maker left four children, Haja Subairdeen and Haja Habeeb Rahman. His other children are Halimath Saburban and Baludeen Musthafa Kamal.
“Do pray that his soul may have mercy and be placed with the believers. Ameen,” added Seena.

The funeral prayer was held at the Ipoh Indian Muslim Mosque at noon. It is also reported that the late Musthafa will be buried at Tanah Perkubutan Gurap today.
The late Musthafa often prepared ‘bubur lambuk’ for the surrounding people during the Ramadhan month. It has been 80 years since the family started the tradition. He woke up early and prepared the food ingredients at 8 a.m. He would also make sure the ‘bubur lambuk’ were cooked by afternoon during Zuhur.
