In just less than ten days, we will greet the new year. I bet many of us are determined to start on a diet. Each year, whether male or female, one intends to eat healthily and stay active to be in great shape.
However, after a few months of dieting, you can not see the difference. The last year’s you and the new year’s you is still the same, with the same weight. Worst, you gain more weight. What a nightmare!
So, what causes this to happen? Why is your diet not working?

Firstly, you may be eating fast. For your information, our stomach requires 20 minutes to feel full. Thus, when you eat too fast, it makes your brain feel hungry, and therefore, you will eat more.
Next, even though you eat less than you usually do, your diet will fail if you put too much gravy on your food. That is too much calory, especially when the gravy contains fatty coconut milk.
Besides that, you drink sweet drinks after eating. It is much better if you just drink plain water.
Malaysians cannot live without rice. It is the main source of our food. However, if you are on a diet, you should lessen the take of your rice. It is worst if you are using a big plate. Do you know that the standard plate for our male is 9 inches in diameter?
What else? You prefer fried rice, fried noodles, and more over just normal plain rice. Fried meals have more calories.
Another reason for your diet to go to waste is that you take too many side dishes. Then, you also dislike fruits and the green thing — vegetables. You need to eat fruits and vegetables because they contain vitamins, minerals, and fiber which is good for your body.
Lastly, I know everyone likes to do this. You eat rice with processed food like sausages, nuggets, patties, and more. Unprocessed food is unhealthy!
Now you know what causes you to gain weight. So, start changing the way you eat for a successful diet!
