In its latest bid to energise the world, DUNKIN’ – a brand that has etched itself into the hearts and minds of Malaysians since 1987 – has “taken off” in 2023 with a new milestone by opening its 100th outlet in the country at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) in Sabah.
This significant move also marks history in the making as the 1,800-square-feet DUNKIN’ lifestyle café, located kerbside in the Arrival Floor at Level 1 of KKIA, will be the largest ever DUNKIN’ outlet in the country, serving up a whole lot of fun from 6am to 12am daily.
With seating capacity for 88 customers at any given time, offering a comfortable dine-in experience for family and friends, and an invigorating experience for weary travellers, the new outlet will not only feature DUNKIN’s much-loved favourites such as its signature DUNKIN’ Iced Coffee and iconic Iced Caramel Macchiato, but will also be the first DUNKIN’ outlet in the country to offer a more crafted experience by serving up fresh brews with the introduction of an array of new beverages. These include Frozen Espresso and Frozen Flavoured Lattes featuring irresistible flavours such as Salted Caramel and Hazelnut Mocha, among many others. These new additions will eventually also be featured in selected DUNKIN’ stores in Malaysia, and upcoming new outlets.
This new development comes as part of DUNKIN’s global rebranding exercise which began in 2018, taking on a renewed coffee-forward direction, building upon the growing appreciation for the beverage in Malaysia, which has witnessed a fourfold increase since the rebranding exercise began. In this regard, the brand has embarked on a new direction in recent times, with a beverage-led menu, primarily coffee, with new innovative offerings such as espresso-based coffee, which has also seen the introduction of a variety of frozen espresso beverages, as well as non-caffeinated beverages, with the likes of its Fruity Frosty of Mango and Strawberry Slushy.
“The opening of this newest outlet in KKIA marks the biggest milestone yet for DUNKIN’ by far since we embarked on our rebranding locally in 2019, which has progressively expanded to more outlets nationwide, both in east and west Malaysia. This initiative is the extension of our coffee-forward direction, marking a transformation that underlines a warm and welcoming café-style approach that prominently puts DUNKIN’s coffee culture in the spotlight with new handcrafted espresso offerings,” said Peter Yu, Managing Director of Golden Donuts Sdn. But while focusing on its coffee-forward direction, DUNKIN’ has also maintained its iconic and timeless donuts at the core and heart of the brand’s heritage. In this regard, DUNKIN’ fans can look forward to refreshing new donut flavours leading up to the upcoming Ramadhan and Hari Raya season, including Kurma Choco-cake, Ketupat, and Bintang Ceria, which comes as part of DUNKIN’s Ramadhan Raya Bersama initiative.
In conjunction with its new opening in KKIA, DUNKIN’ is offering an irresistible deal which will allow anyone to experience DUNKIN’s variety of specialty coffee. Morning risers can look forward to enjoy the Morning Coffee specials such as hot or iced coffee, Americano or latte at just half the price from the store’s opening till 11:59am. Those who prefer their caffeine fix later in the day can re-energise through the Handcrafted Espresso specials, including its Iced Caramel Macchiato, Iced Mocha Latte and Iced Salted Caramel Latte at only RM10 per medium-sized cup from 1pm to 7pm. Both offers are valid from 16th to 20th March 2023 at all DUNKIN’ outlets in Malaysia, including the newest outlet at KKIA (except DUNKIN’ outlets in other airports and Putrajaya International Convention Centre [PICC]).
