Muna Zayed, a ten years old girl is one of the 1.7 million internally displaced children in Yemen. Yemen is a country that has the largest humanitarian crisis in the world.
It is believed that the situation in Yemen was terrible and the people were in need of help to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Muna Zayed is a child that lives with her family in Al Sha’ab camp in Aden, in the south of Yemen. They had to stay at the camp after ongoing fighting happens in Taiz, forcing them to flee from their home.
According to UNICEF, Muna’s school was currently closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19. To show how is her daily life at the camp to the world, UNICEF shared a video about her daily activities.

In the video, it can be seen that she doing many activities in a day. Start with introducing herself and showing her places and families.
In the same video, it shows that she walks with her friend to the camp’s main water tank to collect clean water.

“These are the main bathrooms for the camp. We try to keep it clean, so we don’t get Corona,” said Muna.
She also helps her mother clean the vegetables carefully before cutting them up for cooking to help her mother prepare lunch. “We have to clean the vegetables well to protect ourselves from Corona,” added Muna.
“I hope Corona never comes to us. I’m happy with my family,” she said.
As said by UNICEF, they have been scaling up preparedness and response programs across Yemen, including providing clean water to communities in need and distributing basic hygiene kits to protect the people.
Not just that, UNICEF and partners have also reached more than half a million people with information on physical distancing through house-to-house visits.
