Launch Into An Epic Ride To Space With LEGO Play At Lost In Space: A Mission To Return Home

Get ready to blast off! This May, The LEGO Group is taking kids on an epic adventure with a brand-new space-themed collection. The fun continues beyond building LEGO sets! From 21 May to 4 June, join the Lost in Space: A Mission to Return Home event at 1 Utama Shopping Centre, where kids will overcome challenges to find their way back to Earth.

Agnes Molnar, Marketing Director of Singapore, Malaysia and Travel Retail, The LEGO Group said, “At The LEGO Group, we believe in the magic of a child’s imagination. That’s why we create experiences that take them on incredible adventures. Our Lost in Space: A Mission to Return Home event lets kids explore the universe with LEGO bricks, sparking creativity and soaring their imaginations to new heights!”

As part of the partnership between The LEGO Group and 1 Utama Shopping Centre, the mall will be transformed into a galactic extravaganza with opportunities for children to be free and explore space in countless ways.

The adventure begins with a special space mission card! With the completion of challenges at the mission stations, a stamp will be received to mark their progress. Collect all the stamps and they can blast off back to Earth.

The challenges include:

  • Find Energy Sources: Complete their Space Explorer Rover by picking the perfect wheels and windshield to handle any space terrain, then fuel up on energy crystals to power their incredible journey back home.
  • Chart the Cosmic Course: Use the high-speed stop motion game to find the perfect moment to re-enter Earth’s atmosphere – just like a real astronaut! Line up the Earth, Moon, and Sun for a smooth landing!
  • Makeshift Cosmic Home: Choose which pods and parts to combine to create a space station with your own personal touch. Let your imagination flow by adding, swapping and combining different pods or rooms using the airlock.
  • Spaceship Builder: Build the dream spaceship, then scan it to see it come to life on screen and travel through space on a virtual journey home.

Once they have completed the missions on their space card, children can redeem an exclusive mini LEGO Space Shuttle. On selected weekdays and weekends, families are also invited to catch the special appearance of a life-sized LEGO Astronaut Benny mascot between 11am – 8pm.

Ms Chai Ai Ping, Head of Advertising & Promotions at 1 Utama Shopping Centre shared, “This is certainly a significant campaign with The LEGO Group as 1 Utama is catered to all walks of life including families. We can all agree that there is just something about space exploration that even us as adults are ever curious about, which we believe will pique children’s imagination. This has since led us to go beyond and collaborate with The LEGO Group yet again to bring an epic adventure for our shoppers to experience, so come and enjoy the exciting activities and offers during this school holiday! One of the things that shoppers can look forward to is the Limited Edition LEGO® SPACE ONECARD specially designed for this collaboration, available in adults’ and kids’ cards.”

The adventure does not stop at getting back to Earth! Kids can also join the hunt to find Benny and his friends who crash-landed in Malaysia on their way to the LEGO Lost in Space: A Mission to Return Home event. From 21 May to 12 June, families can embark on a combined physical and digital scavenger hunt to locate Benny and his crew. Look for them hidden around the 1 Utama event space, on the LEGO Lazada homepage, and LEGO Official Facebook Page. To participate, families will need to submit screenshots and photos of the stranded minifigures holding an emergency radio using the hashtag #LEGOSpaceLostInMY on Facebook or Instagram. The top six participants with the most number of eligible minifigures found and located will win exclusive prizes. Full details of the mechanics and prizes can be found in Annex C below.
