Taiwan’s 2024 New Taipei Year-End Celebration is set to light up from 15 November 2024 to 1 January 2025! With this year’s theme, The Magical City, the event will span New Taipei City’s Civic Plaza, Banqiao Station, and Wanping Park for 48 captivating days. The Taiwan Tourism Bureau Kuala Lumpur Office welcomes Malaysian visitors to enjoy the breathtaking light displays and artistic installations, inviting everyone to create unforgettable memories in this festive atmosphere. Here are the top highlights of the New Taipei Year-End Celebration:
1. 8-Storey LED Castle Light Show
A magnificent 8-storey LED castle has been set up at New Taipei Civic Plaza, featuring a symphony of lights and dazzling decorations. This one-of-a-kind installation is the ultimate spot for capturing stunning photos and videos. Every night, the light show takes place for an hour and half-hour, transporting visitors into a magical world of lights and colours.
2. Over 50 Stunning Photo Spots: Magical City, Dreamy Fairy Tale Kingdom & More
From the enchanting LED-lit Magical City to the whimsical Dreamy Fairy Tale Kingdom, New Taipei City features creative installations that offer unique photo opportunities. These beautifully crafted displays allow visitors to immerse themselves in the magical atmosphere, making it a perfect destination for families seeking a memorable year-end getaway.
3. Family-Friendly Fun at Markets and Attractions
The Year-End Celebration also features lively markets, fun-filled amusement rides, and interactive experiences designed for visitors of all ages to enjoy together.

Taipei: A Top Travel Destination for Muslim Visitors
According to the 2024 Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI), Taiwan ranked third among non-OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) destinations, just behind Singapore and the UK. Taipei also won the Most Promising Muslim-friendly Travel City Award.
Taipei City now offers over 60 Muslim-friendly accommodations and dining spots, as well as more than 30 attractions and public places equipped with prayer rooms or ablution facilities.
Key locations like Taoyuan International Airport, Taipei Main Station, and major venues such as the Taipei World Trade Centre and Nangang Exhibition Hall are also equipped with Muslim-friendly amenities. Taiwan has been actively promoting Muslim-friendly certifications for tourist sites and hotels, further elevating Taipei’s reputation as a welcoming destination.
