Kay’s Steak & Lobster, a casual semi-fine dining restaurant specializing in premium steaks and lobsters, has expanded its presence with the opening of its fourth outlet at Elmina Temu.
Elmina was chosen as the location as it aligns with the brand’s target market—situated in the rapidly growing outskirts of the Klang Valley with a high population density, minimal competition, and strong purchasing power.
According to Kay’s Steak & Lobster Managing Director, Muhammad Aizuddin Mohd Khalid, the Elmina outlet strategically complements the existing Klang Valley locations. The Putra Heights branch serves the western region, Putrajaya caters to the southern area, while Ampang focuses on central Klang Valley customers.
Aizuddin further explained that the decision to establish outlets in suburban areas rather than the city center of Kuala Lumpur is part of a strategy to reduce operational costs, ensure long-term sustainability, and maintain competitiveness in the market.
Having been in operation for over 10 years, Kay’s Steak & Lobster is certified halal by JAKIM and is renowned for its signature dishes, including Lobster, Steak, and Beef Wellington. The first branch opened in Putra Heights in 2014.
What sets Kay’s Steak & Lobster apart is its commitment to serving only high-quality ingredients. The lobsters are imported live from Boston and Canada, not frozen, while the premium-quality steaks are sourced from Australia, specifically from Stanbroke suppliers, ensuring exceptional tenderness and halal certification.
Despite offering premium cuts, the pricing remains accessible, with ribeye steak starting from RM130 and lobster dishes priced between RM300 per serving (weighing between 700 to 800 grams).
Kay’s Steak & Lobster is an ideal dining spot for families, including those with young children, and is frequently chosen by customers to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries.
Aizuddin also revealed that Kay’s Steak & Lobster is set to open another outlet at KLGCC, Kuala Lumpur, in August with a slightly different concept. The brand is also exploring expansion into Johor Bahru and Penang in the first quarter of 2026.
