Australia’s viral hot pot chain, Dragon Hot Pot, has officially landed in Malaysia with a record-breaking debut at Low Yat Park, Bukit Bintang.
The launch officiated by Tourism Malaysia’s Deputy DG (Promotion II) Samuel Lee Thai Hung came right on cue as Malaysia gears up for Visit Malaysia 2026, with over RM700 million allocated to boost the tourism sector under Budget 2026.
Dragon Hot Pot’s entry also made headlines with an ASEAN Record for the “Most Hotpot Ingredient and Soup Base Variety by an Australian Mala Hotpot Brand,” featuring 162 ingredients and 10 unique soup bases.
Founder Louis Kuo said the brand aims to make hot pot more accessible:
“Whether it’s a quick lunch, dinner with friends, or a late-night craving, we want to make quality hot pot fast, flavourful, and fun.”
The brand, known for its Muslim-friendly menu and authentic Sichuan-style Malatang, is eyeing five to six new outlets across Malaysia in the next two years, with franchise opportunities open to local entrepreneurs.
