UNIQLO Malaysia is bringing back 90s nostalgia with the launch of a special UT collection celebrating the 30th anniversary of Tamagotchi, the iconic digital pet that once took the world by storm. The exclusive collection will be available starting 22 December, blending retro pixel art with UNIQLO’s signature modern LifeWear.
First introduced by Bandai in 1996, Tamagotchi became a global phenomenon with its egg-shaped digital pets. Now, the beloved characters return in fashion form through UT designs featuring classic pixel graphics, the original Tamagotchi device shell, and vintage game interface visuals.
Fan-favourite characters such as Mametchi, Kuchipatchi, Mimitchi, Ginjirotchi and Pochitchi take centre stage in playful, nostalgia-driven designs. Selected pieces also come with special embroidery and back-print details that pay tribute to Tamagotchi’s iconic life stages, from egg to hatchling.

To mark the collection’s launch, UNIQLO has also introduced a special mini-game titled “Tamago Catch”, available online. In the game, Mametchi, dressed in UT, pops out from a Tamagotchi device to collect falling items and food, offering fans an interactive digital experience that captures the charm of the original game.
The Tamagotchi UT collection is set to appeal to longtime fans and a new generation alike, turning a childhood icon into wearable pop culture.
