WCE Enhances Mobile App With Improved Digital Features For Smoother Travel Experience

KLANG – West Coast Expressway (WCE) has introduced an enhanced version of the WCE mobile application, featuring a range of new digital capabilities designed to help motorists access real-time traffic information, plan their journeys more efficiently and enjoy a more seamless travel experience along the WCE highway corridor.

The upgraded application integrates real-time traffic monitoring, digital assistance and navigation tools into a single, more user-friendly platform, in line with today’s increasingly technology-driven mobility needs. To date, the WCE App has recorded close to 20,000 downloads, further expanding users’ access to travel information and highway facilities through digital convenience.

This enhancement also reflects WCE’s ongoing efforts to improve the overall highway user experience through faster, more accurate and easily accessible information throughout the journey.

Among the newly introduced features are:

  • Live CCTV traffic viewing along the highway
  • Traffic Update feature providing real-time incident alerts and highway notifications
  • AI-powered “WCE Assistant” to assist with user enquiries
  • “Route Assistant” feature that helps users navigate to their destinations through navigation applications using WCE routes
  • Toll Rate Calculator to check toll charges based on entry and exit plazas as well as vehicle class
  • Navigation for highway facilities including electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, R&R areas, toll plazas and emergency telephones
  • Enhanced customer feedback and assistance channels

Through the live CCTV feature, users are able to monitor current traffic conditions along the WCE route, enabling better travel planning and time management.

The newly introduced “Traffic Update” feature enables users to receive real-time alerts and important notifications directly through the application, including information on major accidents, temporary road closures, traffic disruptions and other incident-related updates to help motorists travel more safely and efficiently.

West Coast Expressway Managing Director, Lyndon Alfred Felix, said the enhancement of the application forms part of WCE’s continuous efforts to leverage digital technology in improving the highway user experience.

“We want to ensure that WCE users not only enjoy a smoother and safer journey, but also have convenient access to accurate information at all times,” he said.

In addition to traffic and highway facility information, the enhanced WCE App also helps users discover tourist attractions, historical landmarks, hotels and restaurants along the WCE alignment more conveniently. With just one click on a selected destination, the application provides route guidance and navigation support to assist with travel planning and stopovers.

Users can also conveniently access information on highway facilities including EV charging stations, R&R areas, toll plazas and emergency telephones, ensuring that
assistance and essential amenities are easily accessible whenever needed.

The AI-powered “WCE Assistant” offers instant digital assistance related to travel, highway facilities and other basic information through the application, while the Toll Rate Calculator helps users plan their journeys more efficiently based on current toll rates.

The enhanced WCE App reflects the company’s continued commitment to leveraging technology and innovation to improve highway services and deliver a safer, smoother and more efficient travel experience for users.
