The event featured the 5KM Fun Run, 10KM Competitive Run and 21KM Half Marathon, welcoming families, first-time runners, returning participants and competitive runners from the early morning flag-off through to the finish line. The 2026 edition saw strong take-up across its competitive distances, with 2,200 runners participating in the 10KM Competitive Run and 1,800 runners taking on the 21KM Half Marathon.

“What makes this fifth edition significant is the consistency of support behind it. Toyota SYI Outrun has become a mid-year run that Malaysians return to because it is accessible, positive and connected to a cause that continues to matter. For UMWT, this reflects the value of building community initiatives over time, where every edition strengthens participation, awareness and practical support for organisations such as NCSM. We are grateful to the runners, partners, supporters and volunteers who helped make this year’s event another meaningful milestone,” said Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor.

Toyota SYI Outrun has supported causes linked to wellness and inclusivity since it was first introduced in 2019, beginning with the Paralympic Council of Malaysia and continuing in recent editions with NCSM.

Race-Day Highlights

Set against Putrajaya’s recognisable landmarks, Toyota SYI Outrun 2026 offered runners a scenic route and a lively event village atmosphere, bringing together participants, supporters, volunteers and partners throughout the morning.

The competitive races added to the overall energy of the event, with a total prize pool worth RM138,000 awarded to the top 10 finishers across the competitive races.

The event also marked Muhammad Ammar Aiman Nor Azmi’s first appearance at a UMWT event following his official debut into the Global Team Toyota Athlete (GTTA) programme, Toyota’s global platform for athletes who embody the spirit of challenging limits and inspiring positive change beyond competition.

A Johor-born para sprinter and Asian Para Games gold medallist, Ammar’s presence at the Outrun brought the Start Your Impossible message to life, reflecting Toyota’s belief in Mobility for All and the importance of creating more inclusive opportunities in sport and society.

Part of Toyota’s global Start Your Impossible initiative, Toyota SYI Outrun reflects UMWT’s commitment to building community platforms that encourage Malaysians to participate, stay active and support causes that matter. As the event marks its fifth edition, UMWT looks forward to strengthening the Outrun as a platform that continues to bring Malaysians together in support of NCSM and the wider community.
