For thousands of runners, the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) is more than just a race. It is the result of months of training, early-morning runs and personal goals they have worked towards.
As the official footwear and apparel partner of KLSCM for the second consecutive year, ASICS Malaysia returned to the 2026 edition with a wider race-weekend experience for runners and the running community.
This year, ASICS introduced several activities including the ASICS House, ASICS Roving Truck, Cheer Zones along the race route and the ASICS x KLSCM 2026 Merch collection.
Held on October 3 and 4, KLSCM 2026 brought together around 40,000 runners from 70 countries, with a total prize pool of RM500,000.

The ASICS House provided runners with a space to recharge and connect, featuring activities including cold-plunge recovery baths, a Personal Best Wall, a custom keychain station and complimentary refreshments.
For the first time, ASICS Malaysia also brought its ASICS Roving Truck to several locations around Kuala Lumpur, giving runners the chance to try ASICS footwear ahead of race day. The truck made its final stop at the ASICS Cheer Zone, where the brand cheered on runners during the race.
ASICS Malaysia also unveiled the ASICS x KLSCM 2026 Merch collection through its RUNKL apparel line, themed “Where the City Meets the Stride.”
Designed with inspiration from Kuala Lumpur’s running community, the collection features artwork by Kota Kinabalu-based local artist and muralist Wilson Ng, drawing from his own experience running through the streets of Kuala Lumpur.
Meanwhile, ASICS athletes delivered strong results across several race categories.

In the Malaysian Men’s category of the ASICS Half Marathon, ASICS athlete Daren James Nair A/L Rodney James took first place with a time of 1:13:44, followed by Muhamad Asyhraf bin Mohamad Zaidin in second with 1:14:39.
In the Malaysian Women’s category, Yu Hui Khiing finished second in 1:33:08, while ASICS Malaysia Female Brand Ambassador Allison Yee Phui Se placed third with a time of 1:37:00.
ASICS athlete Lee Siok Chin also claimed first place in the Malaysian Women Veteran category of the Full Marathon, finishing in 3:19:07.
According to ASICS Malaysia Country Manager Boon Tib Soom Nik, every runner came to KLSCM with a different goal, but shared the same spirit of moving forward together.
Beyond the podium finishes, KLSCM 2026 celebrated the personal milestones behind every race number whether runners were chasing a personal best, completing their first distance or simply enjoying the experience of running alongside thousands of others.
