For thousands of runners, the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) is more than a race. It marks months of training, early-morning runs and personal milestones.
As the official footwear and apparel partner for the second consecutive year, ASICS Malaysia brought an expanded race-weekend experience to KLSCM 2026, spanning performance, recovery and community.

This year, ASICS Malaysia introduced the ASICS House, dedicated Cheer Zones and the ASICS Roving Truck, while also launching the ASICS x KLSCM 2026 Merch.
Held on 3 and 4 October, the ASICS House provided invited OneASICS members and guests with a space to connect and recharge. The hub featured cold-plunge recovery baths, a Personal Best Wall, custom keychain station and complimentary refreshments.
For the first time at KLSCM, the ASICS Roving Truck also brought the brand closer to runners across Kuala Lumpur. Making several stops before race day, the truck allowed runners to try ASICS footwear before making its final stop at the KLSCM Cheer Zone.
“Every runner comes to KLSCM with a different goal, but on race day, we all share the same streets and the same spirit of moving forward,” said Boon Tib Soom Nik, Country Manager of ASICS Malaysia.
“This year, we wanted to create an even bigger experience around that journey,” he added, highlighting the ASICS House, Cheer Zones and participation of ASICS athletes.
Celebrating Kuala Lumpur Through The ASICS x KLSCM Merch
Adding to the race-weekend experience, ASICS Malaysia unveiled the ASICS x KLSCM 2026 Merch, featuring the RUNKL apparel line under the theme “Where the City Meets the Stride.”
Inspired by Kuala Lumpur’s running community, the collection combines familiar Malaysian experiences with the energy of the city.
The collection was designed by Wilson Ng, a local artist and muralist from Kota Kinabalu. Drawing from his own experience running through Kuala Lumpur, Ng’s artwork captures the energy of urban running, including the “Run in Kuala Lumpur” graphic tees.
ASICS Athletes Deliver Strong KLSCM Performances

On race day, ASICS athletes joined thousands of runners at the KLSCM starting line, putting months of preparation to the test.

In the Malaysian Men’s category of the ASICS Half Marathon, ASICS athlete Daren James Nair A/L Rodney James claimed first place with a time of 1:13:44. Muhamad Asyhraf bin Mohamad Zaidin finished second in 1:14:39.
In the Malaysian Women’s category, ASICS athlete Yu Hui Khiing secured second place in 1:33:08, while ASICS Malaysia Female Brand Ambassador Allison Yee Phui Se finished third in 1:37:00.
Meanwhile, ASICS athlete Lee Siok Chin took first place in the Malaysian Women Veteran Full Marathon category with a time of 3:19:07.
For the athletes, the results reflected months of dedication and preparation, whether they were chasing the podium, pursuing a personal best or pushing their own limits.
“I feel proud to carry the ASICS name, so finishing in the top three is an added bonus and makes it a great win for us,” said Daren James Nair A/L Rodney James, winner of the Malaysian Men’s category at the ASICS Half Marathon.
“Last year, I took part in the 10km, so this was my first half marathon. The preparation went well and I was happy to see it translate into a good result,” he added.
More Than A Race
While podium finishes capture the spotlight, KLSCM celebrates every runner and the personal goal behind every race number.
For ASICS Malaysia, KLSCM 2026 was another opportunity to support runners through performance, recovery and shared experiences, while celebrating the community that makes race weekend a highlight of the running calendar.
