KUALA LUMPUR – DRB-HICOM Berhad (DRB-HICOM) today confirmed that a subsidiary, Composites Technology Research Malaysia (CTRM) in Batu Berendam, Melaka, was positively diagnosed with coronavirus (Covid-19).
In a statement, the company said movement records show he was infected with the virus after attending his cousin’s wedding in Putrajaya on Saturday, March 7, 2020.
On March 18, he was informed that the couple and another cousin had been positively diagnosed with Covid-19.
The employee was later examined at the Malacca Hospital and found to be negative on the first test but subsequent results confirmed that he was infected with the virus.
DRB-HICOM said, however, the second test found that all of his family members, his wife, and two children, were not infected with Covid-19.
The worker is currently being treated at a hospital and the process of detecting a list of staff contacts has been carried out including colleagues and family members.
At the same time, his workplace is blocked and the CTRM and the authorities will begin cleaning and decontamination work in the near future.
In addition, DRB-HICOM said the first staff of the DRB-HICOM-positive Covid-19 Group and reported on March 18, is now recovering.
In fact, recent tests show that he, in Pahang, Pahang, was free of the virus but had to undergo a second test before being confirmed.
