Defense Minister Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob at a press conference earlier called on people who return to the village when the Movement Control Order (MCO) started, to remain in the village and do not return for now.
“The trend we see today is that our people who are returning to their hometowns are starting to show they want to go back to their work or home in Kuala Lumpur or other big cities.”
“I hope this doesn’t happen. We advise staying in their hometowns,” he said.
He also informed that the police would carry out roadblocks and would direct any individuals who wanted to return to the city to turn back.
He added that until now, police have carried out 1,029 roadblocks, 163,687 vehicle inspections, 2,481 surprise checks, and 1,719 ongoing investigations.
