Steam Has A Record-Breaking, Coronavirus Causes To Reach Over 20 Million Players

Many businesses and events are experiencing losses and delays due to the COVID-19 outbreak. But, some companies still make a profit, especially in the video game industry.

According to the Steam Database, Steam made history on March 15, 2020, when it reached 20 million concurrent users. This is the highest number of concurrent users in Steam history.

There has been a sharp increase in the number of popular multi-player video games.  Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) recorded more than 1 million players at a time. It is once again breaking the current record of CS: GO. While other games like DOTA 2 recorded 700,000 players at the same time.

This shows that the COVID-19 outbreak has prompted many people to sit at home and spend time playing video games.
