US Lead The World Now With More Confirmed Covid-19 Cases

The United States (US) is currently confirmed to have the highest COVID-19 infection in the world with more than 83, 500 positive cases.

According to the latest data set by Johns Hospkins University, the US is ahead of China (81,782 cases) and Italy (80, 589 cases).

The death toll recorded more than 1, 100 patients who died as a result of the outbreak.

The dire situation has made President Donald Trump predicted that the country will return to work ‘faster’, after about 3.3 million layoffs.

“They [the American people] have to go back to work, our country has to go back, our country is based on that and I think it’s going to happen pretty quickly.”

“We may take sections of our country, we may take large sections of our country that aren’t so seriously affected and we may do it that way,” said Trump.

“A lot of people misinterpret when I say go back – they’re going to be practicing as much as you can social distancing, and washing your hands and not shaking hands and all of the things we talked about,” he added.

As the US is now ahead of China, Trump also told reporters, “You won’t know the exact number (cases) in China.”

He said he would contact the Chinese President, Xi Jinping by phone on Thursday night.
