Five New Trends Travelling in The ‘New Normal’ Will Look Like

The tourism industry is one of the most affected sectors due to coronavirus pandemic. Not only in the economic field but also psychologically. Welcoming the life of a new era or new normal life, travel experts predict that there will be many changes to the interests and travel styles of travelers.

Reporting from various sources, here are the trends in traveling after the pandemic that is much in demand by travelers.

1. Domestic or local travel

On CNBC’s page, Elizabeth Monahan, a spokesman for Tripadvisor.com, explained that tourism recovery will begin locally where tourists tend to first explore the local area or take a domestic trip before returning to international travel.

One of the reasons for choosing a local trip is because tourists will trust the guarantee given by the local government. But when things get better, travelers will begin to explore the journey with more distance.

2. Applying social distance by limiting group capacity

In addition to a closer range of destinations, new normal era holiday activities will also be met with protocols to maintain social distance according to health guidelines. Tour operators may offer more outdoor activities with smaller group capacities. In addition, it will also limit movement to many locations every day.

3. Offering good sanitation and safety systems

The issues of health, cleanliness, and safety become the most priority in vacation activities after the pandemic. The traveler will tend to choose destinations that have a good level of sanitation and well-organized health protocol.

In addition, isolated and private accommodations, such as private villas, will also attract tourists because they have minimal health risks than very crowded places.

4. The use of technology that minimizes physical contact

Reporting from the Vox website, industry experts say that technology will be the main tool in the revival of the tourism industry. Digital-based services, such as passports and electronic IDs, automatic lodging keys via mobile phones, and robot services will be mobilized to welcome tourists in the new normal era so as to minimize physical contact with the surface of humans.

5. Flexible travel insurance

In addition to health protocols, improving travel insurance facilities is also important in the current trend. Because many tourists feel furious because they can not use their travel insurance during the pandemic.

Reporting from CNBC, travel insurance is now developing to become more flexible. You can cancel flights, accommodation, and other travel components, even at the last moment. Insurance consumers may now focus more on policies related to things like pandemics.

Well, that’s a traveling trend that is predicted to be much in demand by tourists after this pandemic. How already have a vacation plan after quarantine at home?
