French Man Gets Over RM1 Million, Suing Former Employer Because Of His Boring Job That Made Him Depressed

A French Man, Frederic Desnard has sued his former employer in 2016, finally won the trial and get $45,000 (RM192,262.50) as a compensation.

Back in 2016, Desnard sued his former company, Interparfum for $400,000 (RM1,708,000) because making him work a boring job that at one point made him feeling depressed.

He also said that Interparfum has signed him off work for several months. The company then use his prolonged absence as an excuse to fire him in 2014. Desnard worked as a manager at Interparfum until 2015.

Finally, after 4 years,  Desnard won his case. According to Oddity Central, the court has ruled that Frederic Desnard suffered from “bore out”, which is technically the opposite of burnout, where an employee is overworked.

Desnard’s lawyer said that the complete lack of stimulation at work had left the man feeling “destroyed” and “ashamed”. Desnard even suffers from an epileptic fit when he was driving.

While his former company, Interparfum defended itself by saying that Desnard does not complain about his problem during his work at the company.

Even though ‘bore out’ was not a term recognized by French Law, the Paris Court Of Appeal has ruled out that it was indeed a form of moral harassment.

As a result, it didn’t order Interparfum to pay Desnard $400,000 as what he had requested, the company instead must pay him $45,000 as compensation.
