German Striker, Timo Werner Will Be Joining Chelsea Next Season

It was announced by Chelsea yesterday that they have succeeded in signing one of the German top striker, Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

For now, the 24 years old striker will stay with Leipzig until this year of Bundesliga season end before joining his new team in July.

Last November, Werner became the youngest player to make 200 appearances in the Bundesliga. He has scored 32 goals in 43 appearances this season.

The signings were also confirmed by Werner himself on Twitter yesterday. “I’m incredibly happy to be joining the Blues next season! It feels like the right step for me and I am delighted to become a part of Chelsea FC,” said Werner.

With the new signings, he will join with the other strikers in Chelsea such as France international, Olivier Giroud, and England international, Tammy Abraham.

This is the second signing that the Blues has made to prepare for the next season. The first signing was Hakim Ziyech, a winger from Ajax.

“We are very excited that Timo Werner has chosen to join Chelsea,” said Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia.

“He is a player who was coveted all over Europe and it is no surprise, he has that rare mix of being young and exciting and yet established and proven.”

“We can’t wait to have Timo on board, but until then we wish him and RB Leipzig all the best for the rest of this season,” added the Chelsea director.
